Truckee Meadows Water Authority (TMWA) is a not-for-profit, community-owned water utility, overseen by elected officials and citizen appointees from Reno, Sparks and Washoe County. TMWA has a highly skilled workforce who ensure the around-the-clock treatment, delivery and availability of high-quality drinking water for more than 400,000 residents of the Truckee Meadows.
ABOUT THE POSITION
We are looking to hire a Temporary, part-time Data Entry Clerk Student Employee to help our Distribution Department with a special data entry project. This position is non-benefited and will generally work between 10-18 hours per week.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Examples of Duties:
- Read source documents and move data from paper documents into digital files and or database systems using computer hardware like keyboards or scanners.
- Compile, sort and verify the accuracy of data before it is entered.
- Accurately input data into databases and update existing records and files.
- Compare data with source documents and ensure data integrity by performing data quality checks.
- Store completed documents in appropriate locations.
- Locate and correct data errors or discrepancies and report them to supervisors.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the minimum requirements is:
Experience, and Education & Training: Attainment of a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must have working-level knowledge of the English language including reading, writing, and speaking English.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of:
Administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology; the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar; computer hardware and software, including applications.
Skill/Ability to:
Use the computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to enter data, or process information, typing with an acceptable speed and accuracy, communicate (read and write) in English at an intermediate level; accurately and effectively enter data into computer systems and databases, proficiently use data entry software (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and tools; follow procedures and instructions.
